I stumbled across this powerful video by @lolalessthan3 on TikTok — and I had to speak to it.

She said: “I don’t dress like me. I don’t look like me.”
And thousands of people in the comments said the same.

This isn’t about trend cycles or wardrobe funks. This is about identity incongruence — when the way you dress no longer reflects who you are, or who you’re becoming.

For many, it’s not because they’ve lost their style. It’s because they’ve lost access to expressing it.
➤ Maybe your size changed.
➤ Maybe your budget shrank.
➤ Maybe your sensory needs shifted, or trauma pulled you out of your body.

And suddenly, you’re left with a closet full of clothes that feel like a costume — and a body that doesn’t feel seen.

In grim times it is hard to see the good things... when everything seems dark, it is hard to see the light.

So how can we reconnect with positivity?

By gratitude.
Please, write down three things you’re grateful for, however small they may seem. Gratitude can create a sense of grounding and warmth.

What It Does: Focusing on things you’re grateful for shifts your attention from negative or overwhelming emotions to positive ones.

Why You Should Do It: Gratitude practice has been shown to improve mood, reduce stress, and foster resilience.

When to Use It: As a daily practice, ideally in the morning or evening, or anytime you need a mood lift.

As promised, I would like to introduce you to a great grounding technique.

What Does It Do?
Helps you reconnect with your environment by focusing on your senses. This approach redirects attention away from internal stressors and toward external, neutral stimuli.

Why You Should Do It?
When we’re overwhelmed, our minds can spiral into anxiety and rumination. This technique engages the senses, breaking that cycle and bringing us back to the present moment.

When to Use It?
Whenever you feel disoriented, panicked, or caught up in a racing mind.

So, Identify:
5 things you can see
4 things you can touch
3 things you can hear
2 things you can smell
1 thing you can taste

This exercise reconnects you with the present moment, helping you to shift focus away from overwhelming feelings.
